Deep dive into our proprietary Alienspecs chassis setup methodologies, including corner balancing on scale pads and precision bump steer correction.

Chassis Tuning Protocols

Corner Balancing & Bump Steer Elimination

How we eliminate unexpected chassis roll and unequal corner loads during track sessions.

Corner Weighting & Cross-Weight Balance

We set each corner of the car on individual digital scale pads (rated up to 1,500 lbs per wheel) and adjust ride height and spring perch position until cross-weight is balanced. An uneven cross-weight makes a car turn differently left versus right, which shows up as inconsistent lap times through symmetric corners.

Bump Steer Correction

Lowering a car changes the geometry of the steering linkage, which can cause the wheels to steer themselves as the suspension compresses over bumps or under braking. We check tie rod angle against the control arm through the suspension's full range of travel and correct it with spacers or relocated tie rod ends before we touch camber or toe.
